John Martin Dubroca

2. John Martin2 DUBROCA (Bernard Maurice 1) was born in Mobile Co., AL January 15, 1789.  He was the son of Bernard Maurice DUBROCA "probably also by a slave, in the Mobile area, "without benefit of marriage". "

He married Delfina ALLAIN in Baton Rouge, LA, about 1813.

An 1819 slave sale, listed in the WBR Court, Book "E", pg. 247, states that Delphine Allain is "sold" to Martin DuBroca, "natural son of Bernard DuBroca". Delphine was shown as being the child of Pierre Allain (brother of Bernard's wife, Manette). Pierre stated that Delphine was born to him and Mai, his slave, "without benefit of marriage". This confirms Martin as being Bernard's son, probably also by a slave, in the Mobile area, "without  benefit of marriage".
