About John Dugald Wienholt Stark
Birth date given above (27 Jan 1887 - source unknown) may not be right, as he was stated to be aged 28 years and 11 months when he enlisted for WWI on 31 January 1916 in East Grinstead. At that time he said he was not married and had no trade or calling.
After WWI Jack and his brother Gordon established a furniture making business with an outlet at 1 Church St., Kensington, London. There is more on this in Gordon's memoirs. See media for a newscutting of a letter written by Jack to The Spectator regarding wood used in furniture making.
The probate record (see sources) states that he lived at Bradley Court, Wotton-under-Edge, Gloucestershire, and that he died 13 July 1955. Probate Oxford 9 December 1955 to Mabel Stark, his widow, and John Gordon Ross, chartered mechanical engineer. Effects £849 7s and 8d. His death was registered at Stroud so he must have died in Gloucestershire.
Find a Grave records that he was buried at St Mary's Church, Radnage, Buckinghamshire.
