John was one of the original settlers of Somerset County. Early on he was a trapper and trader of furs. He later served in the Revolutionary War.
His exact date of birth is unknown thus far, but had to have been born at least fifteen to twenty years prior to the war, making somewhere between 1750 and 1760.(Estimate)
John seved in the military in 1776. He was a private in Captain Rundio's Flying Camp as part of the Philadelphia Militia in the American Revolution. John worked as a hunter and trapper.
