Biography

Son of Severinus Peter Diegart {b.1698 Schoharie Co NY-d.1740 Palatine District, German Flats, Herkimer Co New York} and MAria Agnes {b.1704 Schoharie Co NY}. He married November 25, 1759, Dorothea Shoemaker the daugther of Captain Rudolph Schumacher {1718-1788} and Gertrude Herkimer {1722-1806}, Neice of General Nicholas Herkimer. He gave his life serving the New York militia in the Revolution dying on the Oriskany Battleground, Whitestown, Oneida County, New York, USA

Notes

A sister of Dorothea was Ann Gertrude Shoemaker married to Lt. Matthew Wormuth killed 1778 and then to Major John Frey
