About John Elmore, of North Farnham Parish
Notes:
John received "one shilling Starling Money" in his grandfather Peter's will of 1720. He married Anne Ayers and they had only one son, George, who was born in 1722. Anne died sometime after October 1726 and then John married Anne Reynolds. They lived in Farnham, Richmond Co. VA . He bought his plantation from father-in-law? Robert Reynolds in 1743.
Will
written 20 Jun 1757. John Elmore, NFP, will proved 3 Oct 1757. Wife Anne entire estate, after her death or remarriage, to return to children; son George plantation I now live on, he lacking heirs, to go to son John; son Travers; Travers (Travis) is given his Father's Negro woman Winny only to be revoked back to John's son Charles. John's son John is given his horse colt and a long gun. George received his father's short gun and fiddle. It is John's desire that his sons Charles and Travers have two more years of schooling apiece.
