He settled at Windham, and was a large landholder. On the 13th day of May, 1696, his father gave him a deed of one thousand acres of land at Windham Center. Be was chosen town clerk of Windham 4 Dec, 1704, and was re-elected every year thereafter during his life. He also held the office of judge of probate for a short time, and was captain of a company of militia.
