We find recorded deed of 100 Acres of land sold by Rober t and Martha Stuart to John Faris, August 5, 1789 for 60 pounds, Penns currency. The home of John and Agnes Faris was near Roney's Point West Vir ginia. Robert Stuart was of Covenanter descent, Agnes was eldest of ten c hildren, mentioned in will of Robert Stuart written in 1805. Records prior to 1772 are at Winchester, Fredonia County, Virgina. In 1917 the graves of William Sr. and Dorratha Faris, also John and Agnes Faris were give n perpetual care by the payment of $50 by their descendants. Mrs. Anna Yates Gilmore paid $25 for care of graves of Thomas and Mary (Faris) Yates , her grandparents.
