About John S Farmer
Attorney at Law. He was born in Mansfield June 23, 1844, and received his elementary education in Washington Township, John and Susan (Stewart) Farmer, his parents, were old residents of the county and resided in Washington Township many years. In 1864, he began teaching school in this county, and was so engaged for ten winter terms ; during the summer months he worked on a farm, while he continued a course of reading preparatory to the study of law ; in April, 1870, he came to Mansfield and continued his studies under the instruction of Matson & Dirlam, and was admitted to the bar in June, 1872
Mr. Farmer was married to Barbara A. Harman, by whom he has three children.
