About John Foyn Klaboe Sr.
Came to America as an opera singer. John sang in the New York opera houses, and on Broadway. Also sang under the name John Foyn. One show he was in was " The Never Homes" 1911. A musical comedy with Helen Hayes in the cast. Served in the US Army during World War One and Survived the spanish Flu. Sometime between the end of the WW1 and before the Great Depression he stoped singing(except in church and with his grand children). He built his house during the great depression. It is the house he spent the rest of his life in. My sister now lives in the house. He played the piano, wrote poetry, and loved to tell stories to his grand children and great grand children. After he stoped singing he worked in health care for the VA (Gov.)medical center and retired. I am his oldest grand son,I knew him well and I loved him.
