About John Franklin Butler
John Franklin Butler was a farmer until he lost his farm near the beginning of the Great Depression. After that, he worked in turpentine, hauled fish, anything to make a living. Around 1932 he took the family south to the Orlando area. He and the older boys found work in the orange groves until he dropped dead in 1934.
