About John Frick

AMHERST BEE-3/11/1880-Obituary John Frick

Mr. Frick, son of John and Anna Frick was born in Manheim Township, Lancaster County, Pa., and died at Galesburg ILLinois, Saturday, March 6th, 1880, at seven o'clock A.M. in the seventy-sixth year of his life.
He was married to Miss Nancy Baker in the year 1828, with whom he lived happily the remainder of his life and who is now left lonely by his removal. He was a most worthy member of the Christian church for fifty years, being one of the first members of the church in this village. Two remaining sisters and one brother suriving him. Mrs. Elizabeth Lehn, age eighty-two years, and Mrs. Nancy Spayth, aged eighty-seven years, both residents of this village; Mr. Abram Frick of California, aged seventy-four years, is the suriving brother. Mr John Frick, father of deceased, moved to this village in the year 1809.
Deceased, with his wife, went to Battle Creek, Michigan, about one year ago, to visit their children who are living West. Their intention was to return to their old home this spring, visit their relatives a short time and then make Battle Creek their future residing place.
Mr. Frick was sick but ten days, his illness being a complication of lung difficulty. He died as if entering into a quiet sleep peacefully, and without a struggle. His wife and remaining children, ten of whom are living, mourn his loss deeply, but he left comforting evidence to his family and friends that he had hope of being forever with the lord.
The remains were carefully laid in their last resting place, in the cemetery at Battle Creek
