About John Gentles
John left Falkirk after 1821 and before going abroad in 1832. He left his father to look after his wife Mary and their children. But no more was heard from him, he may have gone to Jamaica to be with his brother William. Both successful as East India Merchants. John did have another son, but no information on if he was ever divorced.
