1685-86: Processes and related papers: Petition by Jean Luke concerning the accusations made against her husband, John Gibson, merchant in Glasgow, "by the malicious suggestion of some envious neighbours" that he was part of the Earl of Argyll's rebellion. Enclosing a letter from John Gibson in Belfast and a bill of lading for the Mayflower of Dublin bound for France, both of which are cited as evidence that the accused was abroad when indicted.
