Biography

John Gilliam, III was born in 1673 in Surry County, Virginia, Colonial America. His parents were Captain John Gilliam, II and Margery Gillam.

John married Sarah Gilliam. Together they had the following children: Mary Gilliam; Charles Gilliam; William I Gilliam Died Young; William Gilliam, of Bedford County; Hinchea Gilliam; John Gilliam; Elizabeth Gilliam.

He died in 1738 in Granville County, North Carolina, Colonial America.


Biography

John Gilliam was born in 1663 in Henderson Tax District (no taxation on land or estate but instead was a poll tax on being a free person of color or having said in one's household. It was a charge to those based on the mother's legal status or as head of householder with free people of color within the household, whether married or not. It is by default that the party to which this applies is Lucy, the second wife due to the down line picking up continued native all the way to Old Cheraw's District and then over to Indian Territory with Choctaw Bill and the Old Cheraw's with him. This was a Surry County, Virginia, Colonial America person whose Gilliams went right north of Indian Woods and bought next to the Mizell, Spivey, and Smallwood families, all of whom married Southern Tucororan wives. His parents were Captain John Gilliam and Margery Gilliam.

He died in 1738 in Granville County, North Carolina, Colonial America.
