About John Gorman
John came from Laggenstown, County Tipperary (?) He is buried in the upper end of St. Joseph Cemetery in St. JOseph, PA.
John and Johanna left Ireland April 16, 1844, landing in N.Y. the following June. They went by boat to Albany, NY. They left Albany by canal to Utica. John left his family there, while going to Silver Lake, PA to see his friend and neighbor from Ireland, Mr. Markley. He returned to Utica, then taking his family and belongings by canal to Binghamton. He took his family to Richmond Hill, Silver Lake Township, PA, and lived in part of Markley's house until building a large house of his own.
John and Johanna had 10 children.
