RECEPTION TO MR. JOHN GOULSTON
Most Worshipful Bro. John Goul
ston, Pro-Grand Master of the
United Grand Lodge of Freemasons
of New South Wales, visited Bris
bane during last week with a team
of Grand Lodge officers. Mr. Goul
ston performed the ceremony of in
stallation of the Grand Master of
the Grand Lodge of Queensland.
The visiting Freemasons were en
tertained by their hosts and spent
a memorable week in Brisbane.
On Friday evening a reception
was tendered Mr. John Goulston by
the Rev. and Mrs. N. Levine, at
“Hatikvah,” Synagogue Hous^ A
large gathering assembled to greet
and to welcome the distinguished
visitor. In the name of the Brisbane
Jewish community, the Rev. Levine
spoke warm words of welcome to
and appreciation of their guest of
honor. Mr. Goulston spoke most
helpfully and interestingly of the
man)' activities in which he is in
terested. Most fittingly he welded
together Masonic and Jewish ph;l
anthropj', and his reference to the
development, activities and policy
of the Great Synagogue, of which
he is Treasurer,. made a profound
impression. Mr. Goulston was
warmly thanked in felicitous
speeches from Mr. P. Frankel, Mr.
M. Hertzberg and Mr. N. Ravdell.
