John Haggard

John Haggard was the husband of Nancy "Ann" Snelling. They were married on November 1, 1922 in Caldwell County, Kentucky. His name is variously spelled Haggard, Hoggard, Hagard, Hogard and, possibly, Haggud.

The only verified source for John is his marriage to Nancy Snelling. The following information is purely speculative, based on web-trees without proper sources. These trees claim that John Haggard was born May 24, 1800 in Winchester, Clark County, Kentucky. He was the son of David Haggard and Nancy Dawson. After Nancy's death in 1834, he married Mary J. Thompson, born c.1815 in Hopkinsville, Christian County, Kentucky. If this information is correct, there were three children from his marriage to Nancy - Frances (1825-1907), Amanda (1826-?) and Ann (1826-?). Although Frances' birth information is uncertain, her later life was well documented. All three children are in Geni, with caveats about the speculative nature of the information given. There were also five children from the second marriage. It is believed that he died in Hancock County, Illinois on April 27, 1847
