At least eight pedigrees published by MyHeritage falsely claim that John Hamilton, here treated, was the son of James Hamilton, Earl of Abercorn and his wife Marion Boyd, Countess of Abercorn However, authentic evidence of relationship is not offered. Critical Comment made by Michael Dwayne Hamilton : Just because no one seems to have found or published a connection, does not mean it is fake. Thorough research after these many years on these people is possibly difficult, but why call their existence "Fake"?

Reply by Private User : All of the people mentioned in the introduction are real people who lived in the past. It is the genealogy which has been claimed for them that is false. If the claim has been made up in order to satisfy the vanity of the author, and is not supported by authentic evidence, then, in my opinion, it becomes an example of fake genealogy.
