THE ARGUS Sat 7 Oct 1916 Notice to Creditors. - Notice is hereby given, that JOHN THOMAS HAMMOND, of Warragul, in the State of Victoria, farmer, has by deed dated the fifth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and sixteen, conveyed and assigned all his estate, property and effects, whatsoever and wheresoever, to Edward William Smail, of the City of Melbourne, in the said state, public accountant, in trust for realisation and otherwise for the benefit of all the creditors of the said John Thomas hammond, as in the said deed mentioned. etc etc.

I tis likely that, after the bankruptcy, the Hammonds moved to Toora where Mary Ann had a brother.

The Age, Wed 30 April 1941: HAMMOND.- On April 28, John Hammond, loved husband of Mary, loving father of Nell, Florrie, Jack, Albert (2nd AIF., abroad), Wilfred (deceased), Herbert, George, and Roy.

John Thomas and Mary Ann had children at Korumburra and Toora before moving to Footscray.
