Will, 1/19/1719: probated 3/16/1719, Chowan Co NC: Brothers William, Thomas, Jacob; daughters Elizabeth, Mary; wife Rebeccah; others mentioned, Katherine Stancil, Richard Pickering, John Butler; Executors William Hardy, Thomas Pollock, Robert West; Witnesses John Holbrook, Laurence Starton, John Luerton; Proven before C. Eden. (A footnote says the daughter Elizabeth married Nathaniel Hill, son of Isaac in 1722)
It's not clear if Ann Byrd Hardy and Rebeccah Hardy are the same person. More research is needed.
John Hardy II was granted land in Chowan Precinct in 1716 by the Lord Proprietors (Land Grand Records Office, secretary of State for North Carolina).
In a deed dated 28 Oct. 1717, John Hardy with the consent of his wife Rebecca deeded 270 acres to William Hardy "for love and affection that I bear my brother."
