He [John Hinton] married Mary Hardy, who married very shortly after his death, 1732, to Thomas Holliday, much to the intense opposition of her children, in fact family tradition claims that Malachi her youngest son was so indignant that he left Chowan and followed his elder brother into the wilds of North Carolina, where he settled in Johnston County.
