This is most likely the John Harriman of Haverhill, Massachusetts who patented a new design for a cook stove in 1836. He is the only likely John Harriman in Haverhill at the time, plus his 1850 occupation as a baker reinforces the likely-hood of him inventing a new type of cook stove. See U.S. Patent # 33.
