Son of Samuel Hart and Martha Veazey Hart. Appears in 1850 and 1860 in Carroll County, Georgia census. Was a school teacher prior to the war. Married to Lundah Bailey in Coweta County, Georgia, on 16 Jan 1855. (Coweta County is adjacent to Carroll County and was the home of the bride's family)

Moved to Upshur County, Texas soon after the 1860 census. Enlisted in Co H 18th Texas Infantry on May 6, 1862. Died of pneumonia at Camp Nelson in Lonoke County, Arkansas. Is buried there in unknown grave.

There are three known children: Charles A, Cicero O, and George Aline (Olin). Charles A is presumed to have died as a young child. He does not appear in records after the 1860 census.
