John Hay, of Smithfield

Not the same as John Hay, 3rd Lord of Yester

John Hay of Smithfield was the son of John, third lord of Yester, by his 2nd wife, (unknown) Dickson of Smithfield, of Peeble-shire. His older half brother, John, by Elizabeth Crichton, inherited as fourth lord of Yester.

John Hay was living on 27 May 1528.1 He lived at Smithfield, Peebles-shire, Scotland.2. His wife was Janet Scott, parents unknown.
