Book on Bucks County, Pennsylvania, deed records:
John and son Joseph emigrated from Isle of Wight as Quakers in 1698. They moved in Eastern Pennsylvania. From December of 1698 to December of 1709, the father John Headley bought a total of 300 acres of land in Bristol Twp, Bucks County, Pennsylvania. These land deed records give no mention of John's wife, or other children of John.
Earliest mention of son, Joseph, is 10 Jan 1709, when his father sells to him 100 acres of land. By this time, Joseph is married to Hannah Palmer and has a son, John, born 21 August 1707, according to Hinshaw's "Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy" (Vol II, pages 960, 1000 and 1001.)
"Headly" remained a prominent Bucks COunty landowner name well into the 1800s = http://ancestortracks.com/PhiSur_Bristol(Bucks)_1850.jpg
