John Hooley, son of Andreas, was born in Switzerland and arrived with his family on the "Brotherhood". He lived with his family in Berks County, later marrying Catherine Blank, Catherine died on 21 Apr 1812 in Mifflin Co., PA.1 Buried in Hooley Cemetery, Belleville, Mifflin Co., PA.2 the daughter of Dr. Hans Blank,(abt 1710-Jan 1790) in Lancaster Co., PA & Magdalena (abt 1715-Apr 1796). Hans had a practice in Europe and later in Berks and Lancaster Counties. In 1769 Dr. Blank purchased a farm near Cains, partly in Lancaster and Chester Counties. Before his death he divided his 305 acre farm giving 166 acres to his son John Blank and 137 acres to his daughter, Catherine and her husband, John Hooley. This is probably the "Waterloo" farm just east of Cains on route 340.

John and Catherine Hooley moved to Mifflin County in 1791 because of financial difficulties brought on by the Revolutionary War, and partly because his conservative convictions were threatened. John ministered in the Amish Church in Mifflin County, where he died in 1805.
