About Iain MacLean Ghairbh, 2nd of Coll
http://genealogics.org/getperson.php?personID=I00637353&tree=LEO
BIOGRAPHY Iain Abrach MacLean, 2nd of Coll, was the son of Iain Garve MacLean, 1st of Coll, and Isabel Fraser of Lovat. He was named Iain Abrach because he had spent the most part of his earlier years on an estate on Locheil-side, Lochaber, then his property.
He was married to Janette Maclean of Urquhart, by whom he had two sons, John and Hector.
Iain Abrach MacLean was killed in a feud with the Camerons of Locheil, who disputed his possession of the Lochaber estate; the lands were, however, subsequent confirmed to his son John at a subsequent period, by charter from King James V. The same charter also confirmed one previously granted to Iain Gave MacLean, 1st of Coll, of the lands of Drimmin and Achalennan in Morvern.
He was succeeded by his eldest son John, 3rd MacLean of Coll.
