OBITUARY-JOHN JACKSON, SR. CROSSES THE RIVER-Mr. John Jackson, Sr. died Saturday at 11:30 o'clock at his home near Harpeth after an illness of five days, age 85 years. The deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Susan Wiley Jackson, and five sons, Charles and George Jackson, of Union City; Joseph Jackson of Bethesda, and John Jackson, Jr., with whom he made his home; also two daughters, Mrs. Robert Jackson, of Harpeth and Mrs. Robert Green of Franklin vicinity. The funeral was conducted Monday at 2 o'clock by Rev. Russell, of Triune, and Rev. C. S. Gabbard of Bethesda, with interment in the Franklin burial ground near the residence. Mr. Jackson was born and lived all his life in the section where he died. He was an honorable man and a good citizen, esteemed by his neighbors and beloved by a large circle of friends and relatives.
