John "Johnnie" Jackson (1957 - 1998)

John (41), and his family were attacked by five men soon after arriving home to their Pongola farm, northern KwaZulu/Natal on 4th September 1998. The men shot and then stabbed John to death. His his wife Tercia sustained minor injuries. Their two children escaped physically unhurt.

Two fridays ago, one of the guys that works with me, his sister's husband was murdered in front of his wife and kids.

He was a butcher, and on the saturday, after they had closed the shop, they went home, which was a small holding 9km outside Pongola, when they stopped in front of their garage, a group of blacks surrounded the car, they dragged him out, hit him with a bush knife then shot him.

They beat his wife, took the money, then locked her and their kids in the garage, the youngest son was small enough to climb out a small window and go for help, otherwise who knows how long they would have been left there, the guy who beat her up, said that they will be back for her!
