OBITUARY: MRS. MELVINA C. JAMES, CASINO, Thursday.
Mrs. Melvina Cardina James died suddenly at her home, near Rappville, whilst preparing for the Christmas festivities. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Crouch, and was born at Singleton 69 years ago. She came to this district with her parents at an early age and settled at Deep Creek.
She was married, at the age of 21, to Mr. John Wylley James, and lived with him on a property near Rappville ever since. She is survived by her husband.
Mesdames N. Johnson (Wooli) and Mrs. R. Farr (Rappville) are daughters, and sons are John and Thomas (Rappville) and Charles (A.I.F.).
Sisters are Mesdames C. James and Samuels (Brisbane).
The funeral took place from the Methodist Church, Casino, for the Casino cemetery, Rev. R. A. Bell officiating. Pall-bearers were Messrs. Thomas and Charles James (sons), R. Farr and Irwin Johnson (sons-in-law), and S. Richardson and Gulliver. Funeral arrangements were in the hands of Trevor D. Bevan.
