After Anna died, a woman by the name of Carolyn came to help look after the children. Carolyn had been "put in a family way" by a man who would not marry her. Albert Robert was the child born to her. When Albert was a year old, John and Carolyn married.The children from this union are as follows: Anna Herman Fredrick Christian Ida Dorothy Louise H Fred

John's lungs got bad and he bought a farm south of South Bend. He died and left Carolyn with nine children to raise and a farm that wasn't paid for to tend.
