Biography ==John had a brother James (born c 1505, died after 1575), who married Joan, the widow of William Thorpe of Dedham.
He may have married a relative of John Burward of Debach, Suffolk, whoin his will dated 12 Apr 1572, left his land in three parishes to thepreacher's son John.
He probably had two wives, as the dates between the births of his son John and those of his other children is best explained by supposing this. Children: Sons John, James, Thomas; daughters Alice (m. William Garrard), Margaret (m. Richard Elmye), Susan (m. Henry Sherman the younger), Unnamed (probably m. Gilbert Hills).
