About John Davies Lewis
John Lewis worked in Narberth, Pembrokeshire, as a draper and timber/building merchant. On the 1891 Census, he was living with his sister, Elvina, in Narberth. In 1897, he married his aunt's (Margaret Lucy James) step-daughter, Violet Irene Mary Elizabeth Ostlere. They had two children, Mary and William. He attended the baptism of Ivor Lewis Briggs, his first cousin once removed, in South Africa in 1911. He died in 1926 and the Probate of his Will was granted to his brother-in-law, Erick Ostlere, and his sister, Edith Mary Lewis.
