John Reuben Lucas was born to Thomas B. & Lucinda (Petre) Lucas in August of 1871, probably in Warren, Clinton County, Indiana (the 1870 Federal Census shows his family living there).
The family relocated to Colorado sometime between John's birth and the birth of his sister Margaret in October of 1875.
John married (1st) Emma Everett Strouse on 22 September 1898 in Denver, Colorado. They had 5 children (Sydney, Edna, Waunita, Chester and Hazel) and divorced on 10 July 1912 in Denver, Colorado.
John next married (2nd) Austie Agnes Minor between 1928 & 1930. The 1930 Federal Census lists John Lucas - Head, 59; Austie Lucas - wife, 31; Betty G Lucas - daughter, 2 months & Verne Furnace - stepson, 5. By 1934, John and Austie were living in separate households and they divorced, in Denver, Colorado, on 9 September 1935.
John married 3rd Anna M Henderson on 20 September 1935 in Edgewood, Boulder County, Colorado. John and Anna were still listed together in the 1939 City Directory for Denver, Colorado. I haven't researched Anna, so I don't know much about her but Henderson is probably not her maiden name.
John died sometime in 1961 (according to his headstone) and was buried in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Littleton, Colorado.
