John MacGillivray, SV/Prog

In 1859 John and his wife Frances embarked with 4 children including Margaret Young MacGillivray (Assisted Immigration List) with 31 other passengers onboard the 337 ton Barque "Lady of the Lake" at ? London early 1859 and arrived at Port Elizabeth on 10 May 1859. They then relocated to Fort Beaufort. On the manifest, John's occupation was listed as "Cabinet maker" but he later became "Undertaker / Coffin making" presumably to meet the current demand.
