He is said to be the immigrant ancestor by many different sources. No records have yet to be found to verify this. He begins appearing in Frederick Co., VA as early as Nov. 12, 1750 when he witnesses a deed between two people. The following day he is found with a group of gentlemen paying money for the support of a sherriff in the same county. According to land deeds dealing with his land by his children after his death he was granted 400 acres in Frederick Co. on Fairfax Road by the Lord proprietor of the Northern Neck on April 2, 1751. The land was surveyed by Mr. George Washington.
