Not entirely confident of this Manning family connects to the Shropshire Visitation family

John Manning and his wife Agnes Petley were commemorated with a memorial inscription in the Church at Downe, Kent with the arms of Manning impaling Petley:

"Hic Jacet Johanes Maning et Agnes uxor eius filia et coheres Jonis Petle de Trowener qui quidem Jones obiit A Dni MCCCCCIII quor aiabs ppiciet Deus Amen"

""Here Lies Johanes Maning and Agnes his wife, daughter and co-heir Jonis Petle of Trowener that Jones died From Austria MCCCCCIII quor aiabs ppiciet God Amen"
