John McIver, here treated, is not the same person as John McIver although both men were employees of the Hudson's Bay Company and both are reported to have spent some time at Cherry Creek in British Columbia, Canada.

The Question of Identity

John McIver, here mentioned, is the son of James McIvor. He married a First Nation woman named Marie Helene, the daughter of Silegetssa, and they had a daughter named Annie who was born at Cherry Creek British Columbia Death Registrations, 1872-1986, index and images, FamilySearch His namesake is reported to have spent time at Cherry Creek before moving on to Heffley Creek.
