Great Grandson of John McCubbin 1666-1745 and Sarah Anne Howard.

Great Great Grandson of Sir John McCubbin 1630-1685 and Susan Elizabeth Howard. Arrived in VA in 1657 and MD in 1665.

Great Great Great Grandson of John Fergus McCubbin 1605-1666 and Sarah MacGregor aka Black. McCubbin of Knockdolian, Carrick, Dunfriesshire, Scotland.

He also received land in Guilford Co, N.C. by Oath in 1778, 450 Acres on both sides of Roses Creek Grant No. 1164; in 1779, 200 Acres on Burchfield fork of Wolf Island Creek Grant No. 815; in 1779, 160 Acres on the south side of Haw River Grant No. 1528.

He removed to Mecklenburg Co, N.C. and purchased 350 Acres of land which he deeded to his sons Alexander and John, Jr on Feb. 9, 1799.

Letters of Administration were ordered issued to his 2nd wife Frances on July 22, 1799. According to his estate papers he died under mysterious conditions and a inquest was held. Fingers were pointed to his wife. A long feud resulted within the family.
