This following Deed of Gift was Recorded for John Merill March the 21st 1712/13.
To all Xan people to whom these psts shall come that I Wynke Simson, of the County of Richmond in the province of New York widow send greeting, Know ye that I Wynke Simson for and in Consideracon of the Love Good will & affection which I have and doe bear towards my Loving daughter Gerrtraud, have given & granted & by these psts doe freely, clearly & absolutely give & grant to my Daughter Gerrtraud, her heirs & assigns Eight acres of land lying and being on Karles Neck at the fresh Kills, on the County aforsd. Beginning where I now the sd Wynke Simson doe dwell beginning from the South West Corner & running along the Road sixteen Rodd, and from thence South East, as farr as will containe the said Eight acres, Together with the right, title, Intrest Claim and Demand whatsoever I now have, or *** any or Either of my heirs Exerrt, admistr., or assigns may hereafter have of [two.] or in the sd. granted premises or any part thereof To Have and to Hold the sd. Land to her the sd. Gerrtraud her heirs, and assigns for Ever, absolutely without any maner of Condicon as I the sd. Wynke Simson, have fully freely & absolutely & of my own accord sett and **** in further [several illegible words] meaning of her the sd. Wynke Simson, any thing [illegible] to the Contrary notwithstanding, is in Case my Daughter **** at any time willing to sell the sd. land, I will [as*] my Son Art **** the ***** of the same. In witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 29th day of July 1708.
