John Miller Jr., was the son of John Miller Sr. His mother's name may have been Barbara or Martha, maiden name unknown. He was born c.1745 in Virginia and died between 1784 and 1787 in Franklin County, Virginia. He is found in Augusta County, Virginia, living with his father and uncles, in 1747. He served in the American Revolution, as a private in the militia, under Capt. Hamon Critz.
John married Martha Blankenship, daughter of Peter Blankenship and Ann Belcher, in 1770. She was born between 1747 and 1757 in New Garden, Russell Co., Virginia. There were five proven children, possibly more. After John's death in 1784, his family fell on hard times. His children were "bound out," meaning that they were apprenticed to pay debts, between 1787 and 1788. Martha later remarried in 1793 to John Copley. She died in November 1836 in Giles County Virginia.
