Hopestill was married to John Mirick of Charlestown, Massachusetts. Her last name at birth is not known. Testimony she gave in 1669 indicates that she was born about 1619.
Hopestill Mirick was admitted to the Charlestown church on 10 September 1644.[1]
Savage identified her as the mother of children including Sarah, 1 May 1657; Mercy, 30 Dec. 1658; and Abigail, bapt. 17 Feb. 1661; and probably also Hopestill, born 20 Feb. 1643; Benjamin, 22 June 1644; and other children.[2] The Genealogy of the Merrick Family listed eleven children.[3]

He [John Mirick] was probably possessed of considerable property. He died Feb. 15, 1678-9. His will was proved 1678-9, and his estate was administered by his brother James, of Newbury, who appears to have also retained a dwelling in Charlestown. The will cannot be found, and an official and definite mention of his children is therefore lost to his historians. The best judgment of the compiler of this history assumes that the names of the children mentioned in the Charlestown records and Wyman's "Genealogies of Charlestown," as given below, are correct. He is open to correction if other and better evidence is ever developed. The children so named were
