24 February 1619: Charter granted in implement of a contract by John Cowper and his spouse in favour of John Montgomery of Sevenacres and Jean Lokhart, his spouse and the longest liver of them two in conjunct infeftment and their heirs etc, of lands in the Byres of Kilwinning called Garlandisland and Baresland: to hold of John Cowper in free blench for payment yearly of a penny Scots Dated at Kilwinning.
