John's second wife was Mary Gearheart...Dau. of Adam Gearheart and Margaret. Margaret said to be a Justice...Mary was born abt 1794 on Walkers Creek in what was then Wythe Co.,Va. Adam and his family came to Floyd Co.,Ky in abt 1806/7 time frame...Mary died before 1820 near as I know.. Married to John May 8 1811.. Children Daniel P.,Sarah and Mary...Sarah married David Coburn 4/4/1832 in Floyd Co.,Ky...Daniel married Nancy and Died in Carter Co.,KY...I think Mary married Elijah Prewitt...

He arranged his own funeral and sat by his casket while others preached. He died a short time later. It is possible that his third wife was Sallie Prater since the death certificate of Ceatti/Seatta in 1912 in Rowan gives her mother as Sallie Prater
