Codicil 2nd Upon careful reflection I desire this the 7 of Octo 1846 the following changes in my will recently made and witnessed by my friends Daniel Tompkins , Joseph Whitten and John Fields to wit My sons Thorp H. and John F. And I desire that after the death of my wife the land we live on as is to be the case with negros left my said wife her lifetime belong equally to my following children to wit Thaddeus C., Spotswood A., Albert T., Benjamin E., Thorp H. and John F. Nance and to Thaddeus Nance in trust for Mary Katherine Wade and her children ?, Lucy Elizabeth Wade, Eliza Jane, Sarah Margaret, Martha Estes and Emeline Frances Nance. It is my further wish that ? Lucy Elizabeth Wade have the sum of ten dollars from the estate. It is my further wish that Edwin T.
