"Reedfountain" was described as Farm no 1156 in the Warrendale Ward 1, East London District (originally Farm no 11). A quitrent farm of John Burrell Nelson 1829-1901. Grant made 1st October 1864. The annual rental was four pounds, six shillings and sixpence. It was described as being situate on the Lekuani River/Zabu River. The extent of "Reedfountain" was 2,163 acres. It was bounded on the north by Farm no 9, east, Farm no 9 and outspan ground, and west, Farm no 12. Baptism of John Burrell Nelson, a son of Thomas and Mary Ann Nelson, in the English Episcopal Church (Anglican), Bathurst, Sunday 18th October 1829, by the Rev. W Wright MA Chaplain, (born 18th August 1829). Sponsors; William and Catherine Lyall and Thomas Foden. Entry no.1. Take note; this entry mentions the son of Thomas and Mary Ann Nelson being baptized as William Burrell Nelson. This is an obvious error as his name was John Burrell Nelson and not William Burrell Nelson.
