Crafford of Surry County, Page 296.

"Robert Crafford held 1000 acres of Carter lands in 1704. It is probable that Elizabeth Carter his wife was deceased by January 25, 1708/09.
Children of Elizabeth Carter were:

III Sarah who married John Newsome

//////////////////////////

John Newsome and Sarah Crafford may have had several children but only William and Joel are mentioned in the will John left. Hugh B. Johnston, historian of Wilson County, North Carolina referred to daughters of Anne and Charity who married William and Jeremiah Hilyard, respectively.

John Nusom had a will dated 15 December 1723. The will was probated 15 July 1724 in Surry County, Virginia. In the will he lists children of: sons William and JOEL both under age 18. This would give JOEL a date of birth of about 1705.
