About John Noyes, III
On 3 Sep 1755 he bought the thirds or rights of dower of his mother Mary (Noyes) Fitts and gave bonds to pay his brothers and sisters, Jane wife of David Pearson, Elizabeth wife of William Adams, Mary wife of Benjamin Jaques, Judith wife of Samuel Fisk, Moses who had died, his heirs to be paid, and Simon. (Also Deed 33 : 218 at Salem).
He was a blacksmith in Newbury, but in Abington, to which place he moved in 1728, he was referred to in deeds, as a cordwainer and an innholder. He also lived in Sharon and Stoughton. His ancestry was uncertain for some time after all his descendents had been found, and until a deed was found recorded in Salem, showing that he had moved from Newbury to Abington. His name was dropped from the tax list in Sharon in 1769, and he died the next year in Salem.
