John Parkhurst was baptized on 29 October 1554 at St. Mary's, Guildford, Surrey, England. He was the son of Christopher Parkhurst and (Unknown) (Unknown). John Parkhurst married Sarah (Unknown) circa 1582 at Ipswich, Suffolk, England. John Parkhurst left a will on 29 March 1610 at Ipswich, Suffolk, England. He died before 7 June 1611 at Ipswich, Suffolk, England. His estate was proved on 7 June 1611 at Ipswich, Suffolk, England.
JOHN PARKHURST (Christopher, George) was baptized 29 October 1554 atSaint Mary’s Guildford, Surrey. He married, probably about 1582, Sarah, who was probably the Sarah Parkhurst who married at SaintStephen, Ipswich, 7 January 1611/12 Benjamin Cole. He was a clothier.
John Parkhurst made his will 29 March 1610 and died about a year later, for it was proved 7 June 1611.

- to wife, Sara all household stuff, as bedding, brass, pewter, linen and woolen, and the annual rent of £8 to be paid half yearly for life . . .
- to son George all shopstuff, all implements of trade as a shearman, all my books of what title and print, and all the rest of my goods and stock, movable and immovables . . .
- to son John 100 marks at age of 21 . . .
- to daughter Thamar the annual rent of £5 to be paid her half yearly for life . . *. to daughter Hellen £50 at 21 years or marriage . . .
- my executor to put forth to best profit the portions of said John and Hellen for their futher education and up bringing . . .
- son George to be sole executor . . .
- cousin Nicholas Babbe of Nedeham Markett, supervisor, & he to receive 20s for his pains.
- Executor to give to the supervisor a bond of £300 for the faithful performance of my will.
- Witnesses: Nicholas Babbe, scriptore, Jno Parkhurst, Samuel Pecke, Edward Catherall.

- The large bond of £300 would indicate that John was probably a well to do man, by the standards of the day.
