John Payne

DNA has shown this John Payne who lived in the Abbot’s Creek area of Rowan, NC and who died in 1780’s is not related to the Isaac Payne line nor is his brother, James, mentioned in his will. There was another John Payne who married Elizabeth Porter 6 Jul 1778 in Caroline, MD. They are shown in the 1800 Rowan, NC census with eight young males in their household. John later moved to Smith, TN and then to Boone, MO with a last record of him in 1821. He was my ggg grandfather with my DNA proving descent through Isaac Payne.
